Fiber Optic Installation
From a single run to a full campus backbone — aerial, underground, and inside plant fiber solutions.
Fiber optic cabling delivers the bandwidth, distance, and immunity to interference that copper simply cannot match. T&M DataCom Services handles every aspect of fiber installation — from inside plant runs between network closets to outside plant aerial and underground deployments spanning entire campuses.
Inside Plant Fiber
Inside plant fiber connects network closets, data centers, and equipment rooms within a building. We install armored and non-armored fiber in conduit, cable trays, and plenum spaces — terminated in rack-mount enclosures with pre-polished or fusion-spliced connectors.
Outside Plant Fiber
Connecting multiple buildings on a campus or spanning longer distances requires outside plant fiber. We handle aerial lashing on existing strand, direct-buried installations, and conduit-based runs — including trenching, boring, and all associated civil work.
Fusion Splicing
Fusion splicing creates the lowest-loss, most reliable fiber connections available. Our technicians use precision fusion splicers to join fiber strands with insertion losses typically below 0.1 dB — far better than mechanical connectors and essential for long-distance or high-bandwidth applications.
OTDR Testing & Certification
Every fiber run we install is tested with an OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) to verify end-to-end loss, identify any splice or connector anomalies, and document the as-built performance of the link. You receive a full test report for your records.
High-Bandwidth Applications
Fiber is the right choice for 10G, 40G, and 100G network backbones, storage area networks, video surveillance systems with high camera counts, and any application where distance or interference would degrade copper performance. We help you choose the right fiber type and connector standard for your specific use case.
